Petaling Jaya: The Election Commission said in a statement yesterday that the new list of voters for this year will be gazetted on Dec 21.
Its chairman Datuk Abdul Rashid Rahman said the commission had carried out the registration and checking of the electoral list as required by law from May 9 to June 19.

The national electoral roll was then displayed throughout the country from Aug 22 to Sept 9 for any claims and objections.

"Under the new list there are a total of 9,738,698 registered voters. There are 229,366 new voters," he added.
