To facilitate the discharge of its duties in connection with
the election process, a number of laws and regulations have
been enacted. These laws and regulations not only give the Election
Commission its mandate but also serve to guide the political
parties, the candidates and their agents the framework under
which they have to operate. A list of these laws and regulations
are as follows:
