The launching of the Coffee-Table Book “50 Tahun Demokrasi Dan Pilihan Raya Di Malaysia” was carried out to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of EC which was established 50 years ago i.e on 4 September 1957. This 200-page picture book, prepared by EC, traces the development of electoral democracy as the multiparty system in Malaysia.

It is hoped that this book will enable readers to better understand the present electoral system in Malaysia, in particular the election laws and regulations that regulate and govern the operation of the electoral system. Besides, innovative ideas and new procedures that have currently been introduced to further improve the system are also summarised in the book.

The book, priced at RM 100.00 (Hard Cover) and RM 50.00 (Soft Cover) is obtainable at EC Headquarters and State Election Offices. This book is currently being translated into English and would be made available to readers soon.
