Tuan Hj. Mohamad Ramji joined the government service in 1967 in the then Posts and Telecomunication Department. In 1973 appointed as the Sarawak Administartive Officer and had served in various districts :

1973 - 82 : Ag.District Officer, Meradong
1982 - 85 : Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Housing Sarawak
1985 - 88 : District Officer, Simunjan
1989 - 92 : District Officer, Samarahan
May 2004 - August 2004 : Director of KEMAS, Sarawak.
September 2004 to date : Member of Election Commission Malaysia
