Ballot
Paper Perforator
Made from
solid steel, the ballot paper perforator is a device
used to mark ballot papers distributed by Presiding
Officers to the voters in polling stream. It has been
used since 1959 until today.

Rattan
Basket
The Rattan Basket is a
device used in a centralized counting center system. In
the process, all ballot papers brought from all polling
centers in the election constituency are mixed up together
in the rattan basket before the commencement of counting
process. It is a process applied in 1959 to 1982.

Basket
The
function of this type of basket is the same as the rattan
basket. Fiber Glass baskets were used as an election device
from 1959 to 1978. |

Counting Tray
This square
shape counting tray is made from plywood and was used
to keep ballot papers during counting process. This
type of counting tray had been used in Sabah State Assembly
Election from the year 1967 to 1976.

Glass Counting Tray
It
shares the same function as plywood counting tray. It
had been used during Federal Election between 1974 until
1986.

in Different Sizes
These
various types of typewriter use to be used by the Election
Commission's Offices back in 1950's. They were used
in various function such as voter registration, conduct
of election and other administrative purposes.

Ballot
Boxes in Different Sizes
Time
had portrait the evolution of ballot boxes used in the
Federal Election in Malaysia, ranging from colors, designs
and sizes. These are among thousands of ballot boxes used
in the Federal Elections in 1955 until 1985. |

Block
for Ballot Papers & Staplers
This
is the same block for ballot papers used by Returning
Officers during nomination day in 1964. The used of
stapler commence from the day of the opening of Kedah
/ Perlis State Elction Office in 1954. Since then, staplers
are regularly used in helping the staff in function
such as voter registration and conduct of election.

Politicial
party symbols
These
are the symbol of political parties registered with the
Commission since the first Federal Election until today
and also the symbols for independent candidates. The symbols
can only be used by candidates for the purpose of election,
after the nomination day. |

Computer-Based
System
The Election
Commission Malaysia had switched from 'conventional
files' to data based system as its Electoral Roll management
system in 1985. There are constant efforts to improve
the use of ICT in the election based function. For instance,
in 1990, the Commission had upgrade it's system by installing
ICL 39 level 55 system and in 1997 the Commission had
opt for 'online system' by using main-frame system,
based in its Head Quarters in Kuala Lumpur.
